This Saturday, June 22, SunStang was present at the first annual Kool Wheels Charity Bike and Auto Show. As I mentioned in the last blog post, this event was hosted by the London and St Thomas Association of Realtors (LSTAR) located in London, Ontario. All proceeds from the event went to Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU). It was a fun day had by all! We got there to set up in the morning, and it was already uncomfortably warm…while all of the sparkling, jaw-dropping cars and bikes were rolling into the parking lot, we were battling with our malfunctioning race simulator. It seems like even our Arduino board wasn’t happy with the temperature! We finally got the race simulator up and running, and quickly had a line-up of excited children waiting to give it a try. There were also some returning racers from previous shows. There were a fair number of cars and bikes showcased, ranging from classic to special interest. A 50/50 raffle and other draws raised a lot of money for YOU, and in total the show was a great success! If you played the simulator and want to see how you rank, click here.

Today is the first day of the 2013 Formula Sun Grand Prix. This is a 6 event held in the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, where solar car teams from universities all over North America compete in closed track races. Visit the official website to learn more, and watch as the races unravel!
